Many Answers to Many Prayers!

Just a quick update: Aubrey's heart is absolutely fine! The doc called it an "innocent murmur" and said there was nothing to worry about. They want to see her again in a year just to confirm that the pinhole of a hole closed, but there is nothing wrong with her or anything to worry about! Huge answer to prayer!

Other news: The bid we made on the house in Medford was accepted and we are signing contracts tonight! I'll put pictures of the house up and maybe a video tour once we get in again to see it! I'm so excited!! God has answered so many of our prayers!

Living Large at the Lockhart's!

Well, Saturday we officially moved all our stuff out! We were served by so many guys in our church who did all sorts of loading and unloading and reconfiguring once it got here... everything we own in stored in the garage and downstairs at the Lockhart's house! It's incredible how much stuff a family of four can accumulate! The plan right now is to store it here until June 1st and then move everything into a storage unit and we'll move into my parents basement until we can move into "our" house in the summer sometime. I say "our" house because we don't have anything signed yet, but it looks like we're going to get this house we love in Medford. It's a single story town home that looks really small from the outside, but it huge on the inside. A little short on storage space, but huge on living space! There are so many transitions going on right now, I'm overwhelmed by it all, but more overwhelmed by how HUGE God's grace is... Jake and I are doing terrific together and overall Mackenzie and Aubrey are handling everything really good too! Aubrey slept for 6 hrs straight two nights in a row and that's making a huge difference! We'll keep updating on the house situation and also about Aubrey's EKG tomorrow... I just have to figure out how to turn on their computer... I have no idea what I'm doing!

My Amazing Brother!!

I have three amazing brothers, but the one that I HAVE to write about today is Andy!! I can't believe it's taken me almost a week to post this news, but he WON the NATIONAL accepela singing competition in NYC last Sat. night. His little Christian high school won the regional competition among all the public high school accapela groups (I blogged about this a couple weeks ago) and was sent with four other high schools from the country to compete in NYC at the Lincoln Center. This was no small deal, the cheapest tickets were $45 to watch this competition! Andy's group, Vocal Forte, proformed very well, but they didn't win the competition. However, Andy DID win for the most outstanding soloist!! Can you believe he's a Boettcher??

His solo is on youtube, it's not the one he did in NY, but in case you want to watch it again, here it is.

A Pen, A Couch, and a Bottle of Tequila

It was a wonderful morning again... we didn't get out of bed till 9 a.m.!! I don't think I'll need a nap today! Sleeping in was the high point of the day... the low point of the day was me getting distracted with packing and Mackenzie finding a ball point pen and coloring on our couch! I googled how to get it out and it said that rubbing alcohol should do the trick... only problem is I packed all of our bathroom contents already and Jake already took that box over to the Lockharts! It said in a pinch, any kind of alcohol would work, and I just happened to find in the way back of a cabinet a bottle of tequila. I tested it on the side of the couch and it didn't eat through the fabric, so I figured what do I have to lose? Sure enough, it worked! I didn't get before and after shots, but I did get one mid way through the job... I was so amazed and relieved! There's our little culprit... still wearing her purple boots too!
The other reason I'm posting today is because I wanted to ask for prayer for Aubrey. She has a heart murmur that should be no big deal, but her pediatrician wants me to get it looked at so we're going to Deborah with her on Monday for an EKG. I'm not that worried about it, but I figured it would be foolish not to ask for prayer! I'm praying that it's nothing and we can walk out of the hospital with no worries. Jake had the same kind of scare when he was a teenager and it turned out to be nothing, so I'm hoping it's kinda the same thing!
And one more prayer request would be that we get the house we put an offer in on last night. It's our fourth attempt at a house, but our Realtors think we have a good shot at this one! It is the most beautiful house we've seen so far and needs no work, we could move right in! We both loved it! I'll keep the updates about our housing situation and Aubrey's heart coming... I just hope we can get our computer working when we get to the Lockhart's on Sat!

Mom Jeans

You'll love this!! I gotta get me some of these =)

p.s. notice the music in the background, "You've given up, you've just given up!"

All Is Calm

I can't believe I have two sleeping children and it's 8:30 in the morning... oh the things I could be doing! But I haven't updated my blog is a while and that's just not happening anymore with Mackenzie awake, so I've got to seize the day and post some pictures!

We've been working very hard getting ready for our move. Every free moment we're packing boxes and making trips over to the Lockhart's garage, our wonderful friends who said we could stay at their house while they're away for the month of May. I'm really stressed out about how we're going to get this all finished by next Thurs, but Jake really thinks it will be no big deal... MEN! How can he be so calm when there is so much to do??

This picture of Mackenzie is great because it totally captures the stage she's in... my mom got her these boots from the free pile at HDO for next winter and brought them over when she babysat and Mackenzie hasn't taken them off since. She will take them off her bath, but then they're right back on... she even wears them to bed! Oh yea... and did I say that they are 3 sizes too big??

Jake took this picture "moving morning" and I thought it turned out cool!

Aubrey... so sweet!

Yes!! He got rid of his motorcycle! He gave it to Chris from church and I am so thankful!!

Sweetly smelling the flowers!

Ok... well it's amazing, they both just started crying... let the day begin!!

Wow... These Days Are Full!!!

I can't believe how busy two babies can keep someone! We didn't go anywhere or do anything today and the day still flew by! Mackenzie is still doing well with Aubrey, every morning she wakes up and asks for her, and I think that's a good sign! Aubrey isn't sleeping too well at night yet, so I'm living for my afternoon nap, but I know this too shall pass!

We just enjoyed a wonderful visit from Nana and Poppop from Florida. They came up and spent the day with us on Friday, part of Sunday, and Monday night they went house hunting with us! We put ANOTHER bid in on ANOTHER house... this is our third time trying... hopefully we'll hear something favorable this time!

On Easter we went to church, the girls wore matching dresses my mom gave them... they were so cute! After church we went to my mom's and she had a little egg hunt set up for Mackenzie, complete with the frilly basket! After lunch, we all hunted for our baskets as well... I'm so glad my mom still hides baskets for us even if I am trying to lose the 20 lbs of baby weight I still have on! After lunch at my moms, we came home and I got a quick nap before we headed over to Jake's sister's for an incredible Easter dinner! It was so much fun getting to spend time with both of our families on the same day!

Mommom and Poppop got to meet Aubrey for the first time at church! Then they came back to my mom's for Easter lunch!

Mackenzie loved hunting for the eggs... she loved it even more when she realized there were marshmallows and jelly beans inside of them!

Mackenzie loved spending so much time with "Nannan" and Poppop! We loved having them come house hunting with us! Their expertise was so great for us to hear and it was so much fun having dad look at old pipes and wiring and deducing the history of the house from that stuff... mom and I would look at each other as Jake and his dad were talking and just marvel at how adorable they are when they're together! Jake is his father's son when it comes to stuff like that, and I am so grateful for all of the knowledge John imparted to Jake... I am so often the beneficiary! (side note: another reason I love Jake's dad is because he is the only man I've ever met who changes dirty diapers without even being asked... and when you have two in diapers any diaper you don't have to change is a real treat!)

You will laugh so hard when you watch this video and see the 12 or so adults that were there cheering on Mackenzie has she looked for her Easter eggs... Amy, Angie... you guys seriously need to do something about this no-cousins-yet situation... Aubrey and Mackenzie are going to be way too spoiled by the time your kids show up... so get the show on the road kids!
One more thing: There is a young girl in our church who is so enthralled with Mackenzie that she wrote a story about her for her homeschool writing assignment. She emailed it to me and I thought it was so cute that I asked her if I could post it on our blog and she said I could. So here it is!
Wonderful Little Girl
By Kristina
4/4/09
There was a mother of a child whose name was Julie Moon and her mother, Mrs. Boettcher, has a kind granddaughter named Mackenzie. Julie’s husband was Jake Moon. Julie’s baby’s name was Mackenzie Moon. Mackenzie was a cute baby. Many people love her. One day Mackenzie went to Kristina’s house. To the park, Kristina played with her and had lots of fun! But the best thing of all was that Mackenzie was her greatest friend! Kristina adores Mackenzie. Then an extremely exciting thing happened which was that Julie became pregnant! Mackenzie, who is a one year old, is a cute little baby. On April 1, 2009 Julie’s other baby was born! Julie named the baby Aubrie. The Baby was a girl! Now at HomeSchoolers Day Out, Mrs. Boettcher is watching Mackenzie because Julie is at the Hospital. While Julie was at the hospital, Mrs. Boettcher was at HDO watching Mackenzie. Knowing that God was with Julie at the hospital, Mrs. Boettcher felt that Julie was safe. Dearly cherished, Mackenzie is very kind. Julie and Mrs. Boettcher have a Wonderful girl to watch!

How sweet is she??

First Days At Home

So things around here have been very laid back... we now hand out cookies to whoever wants them...No need to hide in the pantry anymore... it's a free for all! Love that cheek full of cookie!

Mackenzie has been the perfect mix of love and affection and indifference. She loves to kiss her baby sister and give Aubrey her pacifer (or "padi" as Mackenzie calls it) and give her bracelets to wear, but then she can go for hours without acknowledging Aubrey's existance. It's a really good mix, I'd rather her be indifferent then in her face all the time. And when she does show interest, it's always kind!
She is very into her own babies right now... here she is being pushed on the hammock by Memom. Memom was then summoned to go get her babies and when she came back with her babies, Mackenzie then summoned her juice... she keeps Memom on her toes!

Poppop loves his little granddaughters... he's so cute with them!

Here we are about to embark on our first family walk! We made it out to the end of our street and back... Jake is very patient with my post-partum shuffle! However, I am sitting in a chair right now and that's a big improvement from the weekend!
My mom came over today and gave Aubrey her first sponge bath. I got it on video, but it is so sad... Aubrey screamed the whole time! She doesn't like her diaper being changed, let alone being naked and getting wiped all over! I'm so glad my mom was there to do it though, I completely forget what I'm doing and Aubrey seems so tiny that I'm afraid I'd hurt her without meaning to!

I got a picture of everyone at the hospital holding Aubrey except for my mom! Man oh man!

Here's Aubrey content in her throne. She sits here a lot during the day and Mackenzie likes to bring her her Paci and a bracelet to wear... good thing Aubrey's not a boy!

Here are my girls, proudly displaying their femininity through their lovely display of jewelry! Mackenzie gave me one to wear too... she's so cute!

Now that there's a baby on the scene again, we're realizing all sorts of things we can do with Kenzie that we hadn't thought of before... like I made pizza (or "peepa" as she calls it) with her the other day and Jake made cookies with her Friday. We gave her ice cream after dinner tonight and made a big deal about how she can have ice cream cuz she's a big girl, but Aubrey is too little for ice cream. She totally got that and loved it... you could tell she felt very important sitting in her high chair with her bib and totally believing she was "big!"

So I still have to write about the delivery and everything, but I think I've sat long enough! I'll do it soon though... it was such a great experience I can't wait to write about it! I just want to say that the past 5 days have been a blur, but the best blur of my life! God really has multiplied my love... I thought I couldn't love Aubrey without taking love away from Mackenzie, but my eyes are filling with tears because my heart is overflowing with more love than I ever thought it could hold!

Aubrey is HERE!!

Aubrey Ruth Moon was born at 4:31 p.m. on April 1st. She weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz. and is 20 1/2 in. long. We're both doing really great! We came home yesterday and we're just hanging out today. I'll write more later when I can sit, currently I'm kneeling in front of the computer cuz sitting just ain't happening for a while! Thought I should post some pics though!

About Me

My photo
I am a sinner saved by grace and I married my best friend, Jake, in May 2005! God has blessed us with three adorable little girls that we get to raise together in a beautiful home in the most charming neighborhood in America! They are a joy to raise and continually make us aware of our need for a Savior! We are thankful the Lord did not leave us in our sin, but sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, bearing the just wrath of God that we deserved, and giving to us Christ's righteousness instead. Through His grace and forgiveness, we now are free to love Him who saved us and to extend the mercy we've been shown to each other. We pray our little ones will come to know Christ and that we will be faithful to proclaim the good news of Jesus to them not only with our words, but with our actions and our interactions with each other. So please enjoy reading about the Moon family, we're so glad you stopped by!
