Cracks Me Up!

Mackenzie just keeps cracking me up with all the things she says... two quotes from today are:

Taking Aubrey's face in her hands she says, "Now Aubrey, Listen to me. No crying. Ok, Aubrey?" (Her tone was so sweet and she really was being kind when she did this, her "listen to me" was said patiently like she was trying to serve her sister by giving her an instruction!)

Asking for water in her "bid girl cup" (cup with out a lid), I gave her some and she say, "Mommy, you made this?" "mmmhmm" "Oh, Good Job, Mommy! You did it! You pushed the button!" (meaning I did a great job turning on the faucet! I'll tell you, there is nothing like being encouraged by Mackenzie... she regularly rejoices over the littlest things I do for her! I'm so thankful for my thankful girl!)

Aubrey feels like such a big deal when she plays with this bin on blocks. I thought she was so cute I ran to get my camera and Mackenzie decided that she needed to get hers too so she could take pictures of her "tute" sister.

Notice Mackenzie in the background "checking" her camera to see if her pictures turned out good!
So we decided we're going to go trick or treating this year... we're going to avoid talking about "Halloween" and make it more about Daddy's birthday (which is tomorrow) and tell our kids that "isn't it fun that we get to dress up on Daddy's birthday and go get candy from our neighbors?" We'll do that after naps and then come home for Jake's special birthday dinner. Aubrey is going to be this sweet pea that was Mackenzie's when Mackenzie was only 6 weeks old... it's a much tighter squeeze on Aubrey at 7 months!

Mackenzie was playing with her rubber band board, but decided that putting the rubber bands on as bracelets was much more fun! This is David. I get to babysit him two days a week. He is right in between my girl's ages and totally goes with the flow of our home. We really like having him. Mackenzie likes to hold his hand and say, "Come on, friend!" and then take him with her where ever she feels like playing in the house. I am learning fast though how different boys and girls are. He likes to climb on everything and he turns everything into a drum. Not that Mackenzie doesn't do those things, he just does them a heck of a lot more! I let him feed himself yogurt for breakfast and I had to take this picture for his mom!

Aubrey is moving all over the place now! She can't totally get in the direction she wants to go, but she can really move now. I had put her in the middle of the carpet in the family room and a minute later she was all the way over by the kitchen set!

We have all been kinda sick in our house for the past two days. Mackenzie was the only one with an actual fever, but everyone feels achy and yucky... I hope we're all better tomorrow because we have a sweet pea and a princess who need to collect some candy and a birthday boy who is excited about his birthday brownies!

3 Posts in ONE day... oh boy!!

Some Funny Quotes:

"Aubrey so 'tute'" (her version of the word 'cute')

"Mommy, I TOLD you!" (when she told me she wanted to stay outside but I told her it was time to come in... and yea, we addressed this... I'm the mommy, I tell her, she doesn't tell me ;)

"No outback Mommy, it's raining. Out front Mommy, open the door, it's not raining out front!" (that was pretty heart breaking to explain to her!)

"Other side, Mommy?" (when I wasn't quite finished nursing Aubrey)

"Sing ABC's Mommy!" (you had to be there... it was 4 a.m. and I was nursing Aubrey in the rocking chair. Why my 2-year-old needed to hear the ABC's at that time of night I'll never know!)

"You mean step-mudder!" (to a little boy at the play ground that she didn't like... we addressed that too... 'No calling people "mean step mother" Mackenzie'. That was an interesting conversation to have with that little boy's mom, I explained to her that there aren't any real step-mothers in Mackenzie's life but ever since she saw Cinderella she's kinda been stuck on them!)

Last weekend we had a care group dinner here and Mackenzie got to eat at the big girl's table for dessert!

Some pictures from our playgroup last week! I love this bunch of moms. We've been getting together since Mackenzie was an infant and now most of us have toddlers plus another infant!

Sisters =)

Aubrey: "Where's my big sister?" Aubrey: "Oh, there she is!"

Mackenzie: "No, No eat leaves, Aubrey!"
Mommy: "Sisters, sit next to each other so I can get a picture... ok, now sit still..."

Aubrey: "Mom, stop with the camera already, I'm not feeling very photogenic today!"

Aubrey: "I hate when my mom does this with my hair... I'm so depressed I'm going to eat this leaf!"
For the record, after looking at these pictures Jake made me vow never to do this with her hair again... and I agreed! I'm a horrible mother... someday she's going to hate me for doing this to her poor little head!

Do 'Gain

Last week we had fun in a big pile of leaves out front. I showed her how you run and jump in them and then she made up her own version of that... running out the one gate, around the mail box, in the other gate and then running up to the leaves, touching a few of them and then doing the whole routine over again!

Videos... Finally!

We are finally able to upload videos to our blog! If you only have time to look at one, you have to watch the one of "Moo-Kenzie!" It is absolutely the most adorable thing to watch her walk into the Chickfila in her little outfit with her little tail wiggling. We will never forget this fun family day, she still talks about it!

The 'Tude

She told me she was going to Dunkin Donuts, I said, "Love ya, bye!"... didn't know she really meant it... she wasn't too thrilled when I wouldn't open the gate for her!

It's hard to be two when your mother won't let you walk down the street to your neighborhood Dunkin Donuts!

Soccer Fun

We had such a great day today! We ditched naps (I think that's happened like all of three times!) and went to Uncle "Deedaa"'s soccer game! It was such a gorgeous day and a great place to spend it! We had so much fun at the park afterwards, Aubrey was LOVING the swings!

Houston... We Have A Tooth!

Would all of this growing up just stop?? Aubrey just let out a yelp from her crib and it was the kinda of cry that makes you stop what you're doing and go see what's wrong... well, I picked her up and looked her over, she looked fine... then I stuck my finger on her gums to see if they were sore and I got poked by a tooth on her bottom gum! Yesterday she was almost crawling and today she has a tooth... where did my little baby go?? I wish there was a way to keep them six months and two-years-old forever! The grandfather who was ringing up my groceries for me today at the grocery store was making me get all teary-eyed as he told me not to blink because they grow up and get married before you know it! And if that didn't make me choke up enough, the fact that the lady standing behind me in line looked like my Nana's twin sure did! I was staring and staring at her and the more I think about her the more teary-eyed I become... it felt like I was in line with my Nana! She was talking to my girls and talking to me about her groceries and just the way she smiled and had her hair done and moved her hands reminded me so much of my grandmother who went home to be with the Lord when I was 15. I was so tempted to tell her that she reminded me of my Nana and ask her if I could just give her a hug, but instead I gave her a coupon for her groceries and saved my tears for the car... Mackenzie was throwing all of the grocery bags on the floor and Aubrey was screaming her head off so it was so it was time to go! It's been an emotional day for Julie Moon... can you tell?? Only 8 more hours and I can go to bed!

School Days...

We are halfway through our first sememster of the homeschool co-op at our church. Mackenzie is LOVING her "school"... Ryhthm Rainbow Class. I got to teach three times already and I'm up to bat once more at the end. Jess and Shana have been doing a great job teaching and as much as I love teaching, I think I like participating as a mom even more!

We learned about the color green this week, the star shape, and the concept over/under. We glued green leaves on a tree and read the story of Zaccheus. We say Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and ran, hopped, and walked around the room holding hands. I love this class!! I wish homeschooling could stay this easy =)

Aubrey was an honorary student this week. Usually she has special Memom time and a nap during our class, but she held up for the whole time this week and looked ever so important sitting there like a big girl! She's sneaky though... twice now she's been sitting ever so properly just like this at home and little did I know that she pooped out of her diaper, up her back, and ONTO THE FLOOR!! She had TWO baths today and it's only 3 in the afternoon!!

More "Fend" Time

We had the privilege of babysitting Liv for Jamie on Friday... here are all the girls lined up and ready to eat! Mackenzie kept trying to share her food with Liv since she was convinced that Liv had to eat "yucky" food!

Speaking of food... Jeff and Angie came over the other night and Angie and I made smores in the microwave since our firepit is out of commission until we get our grass to grow. I figured I put a picture of myself on here since I'm always behind the camera =)

We are currently in the middle of a million projects in our "non-project" house! I stripped the wallpaper down in our dining room and got all of the goo off the walls, that was QUITE the project. We still need to spackle and sand before we can paint... but it's getting somewhere!

Mackenzie likes to help me paint... I give her a paint brush (she took a bite out of the top of this foam one) and a little bit of water and she goes to town painting the walls. I love how she can't just paint the walls, but has to stand on her pink "helper chair" to do it! Oh.... and the band-aid on the forehead is totally for looks, she got a teeny-tiny scratch and insisted that she needed a princess band-aid!

Hopefully I'll be posting finished project pictures SOON!!

About Me

My photo
I am a sinner saved by grace and I married my best friend, Jake, in May 2005! God has blessed us with three adorable little girls that we get to raise together in a beautiful home in the most charming neighborhood in America! They are a joy to raise and continually make us aware of our need for a Savior! We are thankful the Lord did not leave us in our sin, but sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, bearing the just wrath of God that we deserved, and giving to us Christ's righteousness instead. Through His grace and forgiveness, we now are free to love Him who saved us and to extend the mercy we've been shown to each other. We pray our little ones will come to know Christ and that we will be faithful to proclaim the good news of Jesus to them not only with our words, but with our actions and our interactions with each other. So please enjoy reading about the Moon family, we're so glad you stopped by!
