Winter Pictures and (one of) Angie's Shower(s)

Kenzie was a "butterfly princess Mommy"... I love her imagination! This butterfly princess mommy did a great job writing her letters!

Her little sister is always close at hand when learning is going on...

Favorite past time... doll house!

I love how Aubrey can be found so often like this... contently sucking her thumb and holding her "silky"

So precious...

This is her new "trick"...

Going on a date with Daddy to Chickfila!

Aubrey was not to be left out of the pictures... even if she didn't know what she was missing and went to bed while they went out :)

We had a nice day last week when they could actually be outside and have a picnic! Can't wait for summer!

Angie was SO surprised at her shower at Amy's house last Friday!

I love how she brought a banana with her :)

Couldn't ask for better friends... what a blessing that they are family too! (or is that supposed to be the other way around? Great family, even better friends?)

So this was supposed to represent that she was getting a "carseat"... which made sense to my pregnant brain when I came up with the lame idea. She opened it and was like, "chair-car?" "car-chair?"

It finally clicked! She was excited!!

Sharing this pregnancy with Angie has been so much fun! I love how I can call her and she is a wealth of knowledge with all the reading she has been doing as a first time mom... I also hate how I get looks of severe judgement if I dare to swallow a sip of coffee or take a bite of lunch meat! But I've learned so much from her... she was a huge inspiration for me to look into the midwife thing and I'm so glad I did! I found the best midwife ever who will let me go as medical or as natural as I want... just perfect for me!! I had so much fun registering with Angie and it is so much fun to see her getting blessed with all the stuff that she'll need for the baby! I can't wait to meet my neice or nephew in only 5 more weeks!!!

Valentine's Night at the Moons'

I felt overwhelmed tonight with gratefulness for the wonderful family God has blessed me with! Starting with my mom who started the tradition of a family Valentine's celebration and my dad who always treated me and my sister as his special Valentines' until God brought us each our own wonderful Valentines', then grateful for the children God has blessed our family with, and finally thankful for the gorgeous man that is happy to come home to three Valentines (soon to be FOUR!) and make us all feel so special!

We decorated the house very special with streamers (thanks Angie for your help with all of those!) and hearts and special candles on the table!

Kenzie got to drink out of a "princess" cup... she loved it! She even insisted we do "cheers" before she drank it! I don't even know where she learned that from... it cracked me up!

Aubrey didn't care for heart-shaped meat loaf, so we cut her a break and she got "valentines" avacado :)

Daddy gave each of his girls a special chocolate rose!

What a blessing each of them are to me!

"Daddy, can I help you pick out a good one??"

Let the sugar-fest begin!

Kenzie initiated this picture with Jake! I love that she called him "my prince" tonight!

Chocolate rose time... didn't want this to be eaten tonight, but she is so fast when it comes to chocolate and got into it as soon as our backs were turned!

And I don't know if God has weddings planned for them in the future, but if He does, I hope they play this footage at some point!

When Mommy Doesn't Obey

Picture this: I pull open the shower curtain to see my precious three-year-old straining away on the pot. I smile at her and say, "Sweetie, we had a hard day, didn't we? You disobeyed a lot and Mommy got angry a lot."

Kenzie reply, "Yea, sometimes I disobey like you do mom."

Loving the sincerity with which is speaking and choosing to ignore the self-righteousness, I say, "You're right sweetie. God doesn't want mommies to get angry with thier children. Mommy did disobey God today."

Then, in the most precious moment I've ever had with her she said, "That's ok Mom. That's why we need a Savior!"

I couldn't believe it!! That is so my standard line for when one of us sins against the other. I never thought it meant anything to her, but here she just applied it at the most opportune time! I was so encouraged that God was using my three-year-old to remind me that I do indeed need a Savior and I can rejoice in the fact that Jesus is my Savior!

About Me

My photo
I am a sinner saved by grace and I married my best friend, Jake, in May 2005! God has blessed us with three adorable little girls that we get to raise together in a beautiful home in the most charming neighborhood in America! They are a joy to raise and continually make us aware of our need for a Savior! We are thankful the Lord did not leave us in our sin, but sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, bearing the just wrath of God that we deserved, and giving to us Christ's righteousness instead. Through His grace and forgiveness, we now are free to love Him who saved us and to extend the mercy we've been shown to each other. We pray our little ones will come to know Christ and that we will be faithful to proclaim the good news of Jesus to them not only with our words, but with our actions and our interactions with each other. So please enjoy reading about the Moon family, we're so glad you stopped by!
