Lucy's First Birthday!!

As tradition would have it, I picked up three free 1st birthday cakes from the area grocery stores... it's alway fun to for us to pick our favorite one! I made a blueberry cake too just for fun cuz we had zillions of blueberries after our picking adventure!

There is our birthday girl waiting for her party to start!!

We lined up all the cousins

They cheerfully sat there without a clue or a care!

Oh wait... what is this?? What did Lucy lay her eyes upon?? Was mom really going to give her that cake??

We sang to our birthday girl and then her big sisters helped her blow out the candle!

Mama has to give her the first taste...

And then she dives right in!

Poor deprived cousins... Sophie got a taste of the cake and then gobbled up cheerios and she was perfectly content with that... and Isaac just sat there as happy as can be the whole time!

Oh that's good, Lucy, I think that part of your head wasn't covered yet... good job!

Help me Mom!! Aubrey is trying to clean me up!!

Just a little milk to wash it down...

Hmm... maybe I am a bit on the messy side...

All clean!! (side note, I walked into the bathroom with a baby covered head to toe in chocolate cake only to find my three-year-old standing there in a puddle of pee on the floor... ugh... thank goodness for reinforcements in the form of daddy!!)

No party is complete without presents and Lucy loved them all!!

Father's Day and Blueberry Picking

Father's Day morning we greeted Jake with a new Nerf gun, his favorite chocolate covered cherries, and a card made out of candy bars!

After he read his big card, he read interviews from both of the big girls answer questions about their daddy. My favorite answers were both to the question, "How strong is your daddy?" Kenzie said, "That's a hard question cuz I don't really know how to measure the sizes of strong!" and Aubrey said, "He has BIG muscles, he can pick up a giant!"

On Monday morning I had some special time with just me and the girls and we went blueberry picking! This is not a great pic of Kenz, but look how excited Lucy is to be included in the fun!!

I had Lucy strapped to my back, but that didn't last for long, she wanted to pick and eat just like her sisters!

Look at those pudgy little hands getting the hang of it!

The Whirlwind of the Past Two Weeks!

We are on an unexpected journey to sell our house and move around the corner from where we live now! We fell in love with a bigger house that is literally a stone's throw (Jake could probably hit it, I couldn't) from our house now, which means we need to sell our house in order to buy that house. We put our house on the market June 1st and before we listed it we scrambled to refinish our main bathroom. Jake did an amazing job, it turned out so nice! He put in over 60 hrs in less then 10 days, plus worked his normal day job and took me away for our anniversary to Hershey Park in the same 10 days! He is so amazing!
So this was are old bathroom...
The tiles were broken and the tub was painted with peeling paint and the paint on the walls was always sticky to the touch... so gross...
While Jake worked diligently on the main bathroom, we spent three nights at my mom's house and Lucy celebrated her 1st birthday while we were there... but I didn't even want to celebrate it because Jake wasn't there and Sophie wasn't there, but the girls wouldn't have that... so we made cupcakes and sang! But her "official" party won't be until June 19th when we can all be together!

I went back to visit Jake who was working so diligently the whole weekend! He got some help from Stephen and two of his friends, but basically it was him putting in 14 hour days and not being able to shower afterwards!
I love how the tile in the tub turned out!
My parents helped me join the Memorial Day parade where we live. All the kids ride their bikes or get pushed in strollers and they give all of the bike riders silver dollars at the end of the parade. It was so cute!! I planned on just doing it by myself so I would have something fun to do with the girls while Jake worked, but I am SO glad my parents came! I couldn't have done it without their help!!

When the work was done we enjoyed a nice day at the lake with our friends!
What is everyone looking at you ask?
It isn't a great picture, but there is a huge turtle that swims in this lake and it is beginning to become quite the legend... but we saw it and it was HUGE!

Jake and his buddy Joe out in the kayaks!

My brother graduated from the PC last night! So excited to see what God is doing and has done in their family! Love them and so excited to have them come back home!!

And the finished product...

Didn't he do a great job?? It turned out beautiful! I love it! Whether we sell or house or not, we are going to enjoy this bathroom for as long as we can!

About Me

My photo
I am a sinner saved by grace and I married my best friend, Jake, in May 2005! God has blessed us with three adorable little girls that we get to raise together in a beautiful home in the most charming neighborhood in America! They are a joy to raise and continually make us aware of our need for a Savior! We are thankful the Lord did not leave us in our sin, but sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, bearing the just wrath of God that we deserved, and giving to us Christ's righteousness instead. Through His grace and forgiveness, we now are free to love Him who saved us and to extend the mercy we've been shown to each other. We pray our little ones will come to know Christ and that we will be faithful to proclaim the good news of Jesus to them not only with our words, but with our actions and our interactions with each other. So please enjoy reading about the Moon family, we're so glad you stopped by!
