Family Vacation to Ocean City for a Week!

We had a lovely visit to the shore for a week during the end of June. The house we rented came with a covered porch and we didn't know what a blessing that would end up being! We spent a lot of time out there... coloring...
... and reading... it was so good to see Jake relaxing!
Kenzie really enjoyed playing with her cousin Conor! He was so nice to her the whole time even though he is 3 years older then her!
This is the only picture I have of Poppop... if we were on the beach he was busy helping us keep track of our kids... it was a three person project!
Aubrey invented her own slide... she is our cautious child, can you tell?
Kenzie is into posing right now...
 Cousins in a mud pit!
Lucy looked like this a lot on the beach... it was sorta a rough week for her.
These two played pretty nicely together on the beach

What a good little sister Aubrey is letting Kenzie bury her in the sand!
Is there a baby in there?
Yes there is!! The one and only day she fell asleep on the beach! It was actually kinda hard to get to the beach and enjoy an extended amount of time there because she still takes and morning and afternoon nap.
This is how Kenzie spent 90% of our time on the beach...

And if washing her off afterwards tells me anything, this is how Aubrey spent a lot of her time as well!

 Sand angels... lovely...
This little girl loved the waves... she is not afraid, but wise enough to not go too deep! I had to constantly watch her, but she didn't need rescuing... unlike Lucy who was suicidal when it came to the waves!
And yes, another pose... thank you four-year-old!
My friend was down with her family this same week and we met up one morning to let the kids play together a little bit! You should have seen the greeting they had for each other! Like they hadn't seen each other in weeks! They do usually see each other at least once a week to play, so it was really fun that they got to see each other on vacation too!
Daddy treated us to lemonade and fries on the beach... so yummy!
This is not a trip and fall... this is a bad attitude...
She put that sand on her face by laying face down in the sand crying over something (probably the fact that I said no more snacks... all she did was eat sand the whole week anyway!)
Jake built lots of great sand castles and dug lots of big holes with them! He was so engaging and helpful on the beach!

Kenzie helped Lucy in the waves...

Lucy typically would run head first into the biggest wave and was happy when it knocked her over and would get up for more! It was impossible to get her to come out of the water... but my back would start to kill after spending time like this for a while! Good thing for Jake and Poppop who let her have her fill too!
Kenzie was all about spending "her money" on the boardwalk this year... thank goodness for the $ store! She bought herself and Aubrey these lollipops that kept them still for a little while on the beach... but look at that bald little seagull pestering for a taste!
Kenzie was only  too happy to oblige!

See, there were moments of happiness for this little one on the beach... it was just so much work to keep her safe and happy!
One morning Jake's parents rented a surrey for us to ride! Something the girls had been begging to do the whole time! They loved riding with Nana and Poppop and Mommy and Daddy all together! It was really hot and a good workout! Glad we got to try it!
Don't they look so cute all piled together like that? I love these girls!

About Me

My photo
I am a sinner saved by grace and I married my best friend, Jake, in May 2005! God has blessed us with three adorable little girls that we get to raise together in a beautiful home in the most charming neighborhood in America! They are a joy to raise and continually make us aware of our need for a Savior! We are thankful the Lord did not leave us in our sin, but sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, bearing the just wrath of God that we deserved, and giving to us Christ's righteousness instead. Through His grace and forgiveness, we now are free to love Him who saved us and to extend the mercy we've been shown to each other. We pray our little ones will come to know Christ and that we will be faithful to proclaim the good news of Jesus to them not only with our words, but with our actions and our interactions with each other. So please enjoy reading about the Moon family, we're so glad you stopped by!
