Happy Birthday and Halloween!

Jake's birthday is on Halloween, but we celebrated with the kids the morning before. They were SO excited about their present for Daddy. It was a mylar balloon that we had bought the week before at Walmart and they had carefully hid in their closet underneath blankets. We finally wrapped it in a big box and they skillfully decorated the box for HOURS! I think every artistic medium that could be used went into the decoration of this box... their daddy is one very loved man!So Sunday morning, the day before Jake turned 30, his 4 favorite girls in the whole world snuck into his room and sang Happy Birthday to him... which was complete when Kenzie threw all of the confetti that she had been working on all week as a birthday surprise for her daddy! Fun...
He opened up the much anticipated box of surprise and he found a clue tied to the end of his balloon.

The clues let him all over the house to other clues that told him what we were going to do that day!
Love this one!
His birthday special time with me included sending the kids to my mom's then: going out to eat, going go-carting, stay up late, watching a movie, and eating Wegman's chocolate cake (the best cake there is!), sleeping in, and going out for breakfast before we picked up the kids. I had called his boss a few weeks ahead of time and gotten him off work for his actual birthday... it didn't seem fair that he would have to spend his 30th birthday and halloween at work! It was so much fun being together as a family on his birthday!
Our trick or treating got off to a rough start. We woke the girls up from their nap so we could go out with our neighbors, but that ended up being a disaster...

You would think they were all happy trick or treaters... but wait...
At the second house Kenzie just couldn't hold it together anymore and Jake had to take her home for a little while. What kid gets woken up from a nap and told that they can go wear their favorite dress up and get candy from the neighborhood and decides that that is worth melting into tears for? My kid...

Well, Aubrey enjoyed trick or treating with Eden.

She was so excited at every house... she'd come running to me and say, "Mommy! I got candy!" Like it was the biggest surprise every time... so cute!
Here come our happy fairy, ready to try again...

The second time out for Kenzie went much better then the first!

Our happy little Tinkerbell!

The take... woohoo!!

About Me

My photo
I am a sinner saved by grace and I married my best friend, Jake, in May 2005! God has blessed us with three adorable little girls that we get to raise together in a beautiful home in the most charming neighborhood in America! They are a joy to raise and continually make us aware of our need for a Savior! We are thankful the Lord did not leave us in our sin, but sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, bearing the just wrath of God that we deserved, and giving to us Christ's righteousness instead. Through His grace and forgiveness, we now are free to love Him who saved us and to extend the mercy we've been shown to each other. We pray our little ones will come to know Christ and that we will be faithful to proclaim the good news of Jesus to them not only with our words, but with our actions and our interactions with each other. So please enjoy reading about the Moon family, we're so glad you stopped by!
