Community Group Pumpkin Carving Night!

Our community group had a gathering last Saturday night to carve and paint pumpkins together. The kids all painted their pumpkins in one room and then the couples carved their family pumpkins in the other room. The 30 minute competition was intense...
And the winner was...

George's pumpkin!

The Slingerlands were so much fun and brought a pumpkin pinata for the kids to hit!

Laurie and Lucy!

Painting our pumpkins together!
Kenzie and Ella

The Crisps were so funny! They made a hysterical pumpkin that everyone just loved... including my husband who was the butt of the joke!

The fierce competitors!

My cake... it was supposed to look like a pumpkin... I don't know, what do you think?

On a completely different note... Jake took on the project of installing a sprinkler system in our front yard. We removed one of our little pine trees and when we pulled it up it was covered in termites... Jake had fun putting them to death with a can of WD40 and a lighter!

Our yard is still kinda a pile of dirt... but there is hope of grass next year! The sprinkler system works!!!

Our Wonderful Trip to Florida!

This is one half of our pictures. I can't find the other half on Jake's computer... and I'm feeling ever so much like my mom with all this technology... and have been called, "Kim," affectionately by my husband more then once in my endeavor to blog from a computer I'm not used to! Hmph! So anyway, here are some pics from our trip!We borrowed DVD players from our friends.... that really helped make the time go faster!
I made a count down for the 1000 miles that we had to go and we put a sticker on every 50 miles we did... it ended up being more for my sanity then for theirs!
We took a wonderful walk to the beach the night we got there.... right at the end of my in-laws street!

Aubrey lovingly peed on her father as they jumped the waves together... now that is a badge of fatherhood to wear proudly!

Hanging out my Nana and Poppop's pool!
Poppop being a good sport... Kenzie put him in "jail" more then once!
Aubrey loved playing with her toys on this little ledge... it was just her size!

Berry picking... they thought they were big stuff!

Fishing with Poppop!

There are so many more pictures, but I'm really frustrated with how small the thumbnails are and I can't pick the right ones, so I'm just going to post this for now and once I "un-Kim" myself with this computer, I'll put up some others as well as our ones from Disney (but I have to find them on this new fangled computer first!)

Mom... your name is lovingly used as an adjective... I want to be like you in so many ways, but why is it with computers that I'm finding it so easy to follow in your footsteps and nothing else?

A quick post for my mother...

I haven't updated this blog in so long... I have all my Florida pictures on Jake's computer and I can't figure out exactly how to get them on here in a way I like, so in the mean time, here are some cute pictures from the past few days to tide you (my mother) over...

So many blogs need to happen... Florida vacation, Disney day, pumpkin carving night, our trip to MD to see Sophie... but I can barely get the laundry and dishes down these days...

About Me

My photo
I am a sinner saved by grace and I married my best friend, Jake, in May 2005! God has blessed us with three adorable little girls that we get to raise together in a beautiful home in the most charming neighborhood in America! They are a joy to raise and continually make us aware of our need for a Savior! We are thankful the Lord did not leave us in our sin, but sent His Son Jesus to die in our place, bearing the just wrath of God that we deserved, and giving to us Christ's righteousness instead. Through His grace and forgiveness, we now are free to love Him who saved us and to extend the mercy we've been shown to each other. We pray our little ones will come to know Christ and that we will be faithful to proclaim the good news of Jesus to them not only with our words, but with our actions and our interactions with each other. So please enjoy reading about the Moon family, we're so glad you stopped by!
